The Small Enterprise Loan Program is available to start or expand a manufacturing, retail or service business within the Minnesota counties of Blue Earth, Brown, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Le Sueur, Martin, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Rice, Sibley, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca, Watonwan, and Winona.
Loans of up to $35,000 may be used for inventory, supplies, machinery/equipment, or working capital.
Need and ability to repay must be demonstrated by a sound business plan and cash flow projection.
The project may not be in competition with an existing business in the trade area.
Good character, commitment to the business plan, and inability to obtain financing from a traditional lender must be demonstrated.
