The Middle Georgia Regional Development Center is a planning and economic development agency serving eleven middle Georgia counties.

In 2001 with the assistance of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Agency, the Middle Georgia RDC developed a Micro Loan Program.

This Fund lends money to businesses in the following counties: Bleckley, Clay, Dodge, Laurens, Macon, Marion, Peach, Pulaski, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Talbot, Taylor, Terrell, Twiggs, Webster, and Wilkinson.

The Micro Loan is designed to facilitate the development (creation/expansion) of small and emerging private business enterprises.

The program will also encourage private sector lender participation through the use of loan subordination and loan guarantees.

It can help businesses in obtaining financing for purchasing real estate, construction, purchase of machinery and equipment, and working capital.

The interest rate and term of the loan is determined by the loan review committee and depends on the project and the assets being financed.
