Hastings Community Redevelopment Authority’s (CRA) Microenterprise Program, a program made possible through the Hastings Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) utilizing funds from the Nebraska Enterprise Fund (formerly the Nebraska Microenterprise Fund) and the CRA. The goal of the Program is to bring microenterprise business ideas to fruition, whether it is a startup business or an expansion within an existing business. For the CRA’s Microenterprise Loan Program, a microenterprise is further defined as a business that has a need for $105,000 or less in funding, $35,000 or less of which can be funded with a Microenterprise Loan. Other sources of funding can be used to make up the difference, but the maximum micro loan request is $35,000. Currently, the interest rate on micro loans is 6% and the loan can be amortized from 3 to 10 years on equipment, inventory, working capital and other needs. Real estate loans can be amortized for a longer term.
