The Small Business Assistance Program was established in 1992 utilizing resources from Acción to service our clients.
In 1995 The Dorchester Bay Neighborhood Loan Fund was created to help stabilize the business community by assisting local entrepreneurs in preserving and expanding their businesses.
We provide technical assistance, micro-loans and loan packaging to local business owners and residents aspiring to start businesses.
DBNLF is one of the few micro business lenders in Boston.
Through our Neighborhood Loan Fund, we have assisted over 1,000 businesses in 16 years and helped businesses access over $4.7 million in financing.
Our direct loans have ranged from $1,700 to $35,000 with 67% having gone to startups, 70% to minority-owned businesses, and 52% to female-owned enterprises.
