The CSBG Loan Program can provide low interest loans to small business in the Illinois counties of Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland counties for the purchase of machinery, equipment, inventory, or to provide working capital.
CSBG funds may not be used to purchase or improve real property.
This program was designed to create jobs and employment for low-income individuals therefore at least one job must be created for and filled by a low-income person for each $20,000 of public investment.
The required hiring must be completed within the first 12-month period.
If borrowing more than $20,000, CSBG may participate in up to 49% of the total loan application.
The remaining participation in the venture should substantially include conventional financing from a licensed Illinois lending institution.
The term of the loan may not exceed 10 years.
