The Hatton Economic Development Corporation has provided numerous low or no interest loans to local business ventures, with the goal of maintaining a venture capital fund to provide financing to viable projects in the City of Hatton, North Dakota.
The implementation of the 1% City Sales and Use Tax has provided the economic development organization with a more stable source of funding as the EDC and the City of Hatton split revenue from the tax.
The EDC has been involved in a variety of activities since its organization, including small business loans to assist new and existing businesses, participation in larger projects through the PACE Fund, Intermediary Relending Program and Small Business Administration, partnering with the City of Hatton on swimming pool improvements, support of the development and continued success of the School-To-Work program sponsored by Hatton School, assisting FBLA project teams, future industrial site development and most recently, involvement with developing a plan to provide housing incentives.
